The Okuyama Ryu Aiki Jujutsu ® School founded by Okuyama Shizan continues the traditions of the Hakko Ryu ® Ju Jutsu School founded in 1941 by Okuyama Ryuho, finds its origins, like Aikido, in the Takeda Sokaku School and other budo schools such as Yagyu Ryu and ken jitsu schools.
There is a strong connection in the teaching of the martial art with the medicine of Koho Shiatsu ®.
Its originality is due to the fact that it places great emphasis on teaching the basic principles of this martial art and relatively little on the form of the technique itself, relying on knowledge of anatomy and understanding the principles of operation of the techniques. They do not involve competition between practitioners.
